Youth Peace week

Hi everyone! For the past two weeks in reading we have been learning about inner peace for outer actions. We did the reading about whare tapa wha which means the four walls. Their names are: Social well being, emotional well being, spiritual and physical well being. I need to work on my emotional well being because I can have a lot of emotional outbursts sometimes, the one I'm the best is my physical.

What is yours?

Golden girl disgraced!

Hi again! In the past few weeks for writing, we have been writing an article about Goldilocks and the three bears. Here is my article, I hope you enjoy reading it:

Golden girl disgrace!

Sly child on the loose in the local woodlands.

On an early Sunday morning, a blonde whom we know as Goldilocks, ruthlessly breaks into the bears’ house in Fairytale Woods. Police believed that this was a targeted attack, due to the way

she entered the house.

Did you lock your doors and windows!? Hearing strange sounds at night? Realising some of your stuff is broken down or stolen?

Word in the woods

Father bear, aged 50 and currently employed, explained how hard this attack had been on her family. “My child ain’t sleeping proper ’cause he’s so scared of that girl. We were so happy before this ’appened.”

This case was underlined by PC Bobby Badger.“Several homeowners have also reported that their house has also been attacked before and police are on the search for the criminal, who might still be loitering in the woods, ready to attack another household.”

Once upon a times’ view

Since the beginning of March 2017, crimes committed by this Golden girl have increased by 80%. Half of the town is too scared to leave their houses to go anywhere. This includes murder, tramping trees, thievery and vandalism. The calmness of our FairyTale community (especially on the west side of the woods) has been seriously agitated since this young criminal has been on the loose.

Moving forward

Moving forward, the police have released a statement promising the following actions will be put in place:

• Late-night patrols

• More officers on the beat • Faster responses to calls

After this, A newly formed Woodland Watch - led by the Owls and other sharp-sighted birds, has organised a daily surveillance patrol to help prevent the criminal from coming back.

It is strongly advised that you do not leave your houses unattended and call

The police immediately if something happens.

It’s a hoot peering down on all this from the canopy. Instead of chasing their tails, the police should consult the clever creatures.

Oh dear! Oh deer! Shaking like a leaf and the spines on the back of my neck are pricking & trembling. I’m a ball of nerves.

Family "accidentally " buys 2,300 toilet rolls! :0

Hello everybody and welcome back to my blog! This week for reading we looked at the different genres of a newspaper. We have been looking at Kiwi kids news and pick 3 article, each from a different genres and write our thoughts on the article and why. Where possible also identify some of the shapes we have looked at in writing, or if we can create a better headline the author could have used.

Article 1: Title: Family accidentally buys 2,300 toilet rolls .Genre: Interest Articles

I chose this article because it sounds funny and interesting. I find it weird because who would  accidentally buy 2,300 rolls of paper! If I was to write it, the title would name it: 2,300 toilet rolls "accidentally " delivered to a family

Article 2: Title: Drones used to control the weather .Genre: Weather

I chose this article because it would be cool to have drones to control the weather and so that we can predict the weather faster. If I was the editor  I would rename it: New drones invented for the weather!

Article 3: New frog species discover in New Guinea .Genre: World

I chose this article because I want to know what the frog looks like and what it's called. The frog looked really similar to the Australian tree frog but slightly smaller and its skin color is chocolate brown. If I was to write this article I would give the name: Chocolate frogs discover in New Guinea!.

What is your favorite article and why?

My magnificent maths

Hello everybody, welcome back to my blog. For maths this week our goal is to use linear scales and whole numbers of metric units for length. One thing I learned from this strategy is that you have to plus the whole numbers first, then the decimals. Here is an example: 6.5 + 8.45

6 + 8 = 14

0.5 + 0.4 = 0.9

14 + 0.9 + 0.05 = 14.95

Here is my create:

I hope you like it. What have you been doing for maths this week?
